Little Journee terms of use
Version 1 · Effective date: 2 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Crowmade, the publisher of Little Journee ("Crowmade", "we", "us"). They apply when you use the Little Journee app on any phone or tablet, and its web pages. By tapping Agree and continue in the app, or by using the app, you accept them, together with the privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app; you can uninstall it at any time.
Please read the parts on medical advice, your responsibilities, the disclaimer, the limits on our liability and the release carefully: they limit our responsibility to you.
If you live in the United States, disputes are resolved by individual arbitration, not in court or in a class action, unless you opt out (see Arbitration below).
Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be given up by agreement (see Where you live).
Who can use Little Journee
You must be an adult (18, or the age of majority where you live) to use the app. Parents and legal guardians use it to keep a log of their child; the people a parent invites into a family's log (relatives, babysitters, a daycare, a nurse) use it on their own phones and accept these terms there. If you invite someone, it is your choice and your responsibility to decide what they may see and do, and to remove them when they should no longer take part.
What Little Journee is, and what it is not
Little Journee is a tool for keeping a record of a child's days (feeds, sleep, nappies, health notes, growth, pictures, big moments and the family around the child), for sharing that record with the people you choose, and for showing general information for parents.
It is not medical advice, and it is not a medical device. The Guide, the milestones, the growth charts and percentiles, the routine and wake windows, the sleep checks, the contraction timer, the milk-storage and formula helpers, the allergen tracker, the teething and potty charts, the report for the doctor and everything else in the app are general information and record-keeping aids. They do not diagnose, treat, monitor or prevent any condition, they are not a substitute for professional care, and they may be incomplete, out of date or wrong for your child. Always follow the advice of your child's doctor, nurse, midwife, health visitor or pharmacist, and the instructions on the label of any medicine, formula or product.
In an emergency, call your local emergency number at once. Never wait for, or rely on, the app.
It is not a monitor or an alarm. Little Journee does not watch your child, and it cannot tell whether your child is safe, asleep, breathing, fed or well. Reminders, notifications, sleep checks and anything else the app shows at a set time depend on your phone, its settings, its battery and its operating system, and may come late or not at all. Never rely on them to give a medicine, a feed or any care on time.
It is not an official record. The log holds what the people using it entered, and we do not check it. It is not a medical record, and the report for the doctor and the book the app makes are summaries of those entries, not clinical documents.
Your responsibilities
You, and not Crowmade, are responsible for:
- the care, health, safety and supervision of your child, and every decision you make about them, whether or not you used the app to make it;
- what you and the people you share the log with enter, change or delete, and how you use it: we are not responsible for what other people in a family's log do or fail to do;
- keeping your phones, your cloud account and your recovery code safe, using the app lock if others can use your phone, and keeping your own backups;
- following the laws that apply to you, including your right to record information about other people (for example, someone you add to the family tree) and, where parents live apart, any agreement or court order about the child.
You agree not to misuse the app: not to use it to harm a child or anyone else or to break the law, not to reach a family's log you were not invited to, not to interfere with the app or its cloud connections, and not to copy, sell or redistribute it.
Your log and your cloud
The log is kept on your phones and, if you share it, in a folder in your own cloud account (Google Drive, Dropbox or iCloud Drive), encrypted on your phone before it leaves it. We have no copy of it and no way to read it, restore it or recover it. If you lose your phones and your recovery code, delete the folder or lose access to your cloud account, the log may be lost for good. Uninstalling the app deletes what it kept on that phone. The app can export your log (More → Your data): keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
The cloud services, your phone's operating system and the app stores are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies, which apply to your use of them. We do not control them and are not responsible for them: for example, if a service is unavailable, changes how it works, limits or ends the app's access, runs out of space or loses data. Links in the app to other websites and videos (for example, the Guide's YouTube videos) are there for convenience; we do not control or endorse their content.
Paying for Little Journee
Little Journee is free to download. Starting a log is a one-time purchase in Google Play (on other platforms, through their store once it is offered there); joining a family's log someone else started is free. Prices are shown in the app and in the store before you pay, in your currency, with the taxes the store collects. Payment, receipts, promo codes and refunds are handled by the store under its own terms: Google Play, for example, refunds some purchases, and you can also write to us. Except where the store's policies or the law say otherwise, purchases are not refundable.
If you live in the UK or the European Union, you ask for a purchase to unlock the app at once, and you understand that once it is unlocked you can no longer cancel it within 14 days, as the law allows for digital content. This does not affect your other rights if the app is faulty.
We may change, add or remove features, and we may stop offering the app. If we do, the log stays on your phones and in your cloud, and the app goes on working as it is for as long as your phone and the cloud services allow.
Our rights in the app
The app, its name, its logo and icon, its text, pictures, art and code belong to Crowmade or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on the devices you own or control, for your family's own use, under these terms. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent or distribute the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to. Parts of the app use open-source software and freely licensed pictures and recordings, under their own licences.
What you enter is yours. You give us no rights in it, and we do not receive it.
Disclaimer
To the fullest extent the law allows, the app and everything in it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement, and any warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors, or that it will keep your data safe. No advice or information you get from the app or from us creates a warranty these terms do not state. Some places do not allow some of these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Crowmade, and its owners, employees, contractors and suppliers, will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or opportunity, or for any injury, illness or death or any other loss, arising from or related to: your use of the app, or not being able to use it; decisions made about a child's care, feeding, sleep, health or medicines, whether or not the app was used; anything entered, changed or deleted by you or anyone you share the log with; a reminder, notification or sleep check that came late or not at all; the loss of your phones, your cloud account or your log, or access to them by others; the cloud services, stores and other services the app relies on; or information in the app that is incomplete, out of date or wrong.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims arising from or related to the app or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim arose and 50 US dollars (or the same amount in your currency).
These limits apply whatever the legal theory (contract, tort including negligence, strict liability or any other), even if we were told the damage was possible, and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not apply where the law says they cannot (see Where you live).
Release
To the fullest extent the law allows, you release Crowmade, and its owners, employees, contractors and suppliers, from all claims, known and unknown, arising from the acts or omissions of the people you share the log with, from decisions about your child's care, and from the services of others that the app relies on. If you live in California, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." This release does not apply where the law says it cannot.
Indemnity
To the fullest extent the law allows, you will defend and indemnify Crowmade, and its owners, employees, contractors and suppliers, against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by anyone else that arise from your use of the app, what you enter in it, the people you share a log with, or your breach of these terms. If you are a consumer in the UK or the European Union, this applies only as far as the law where you live allows.
Where you live
The law of the place where you live protects you in ways that a contract cannot take away.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or gross negligence where the law makes us liable for them, under product liability laws, or for anything else the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, and nothing in them affects your rights as a consumer that cannot be given up by agreement.
- United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the state where you live and the federal laws of the United States, and the Federal Arbitration Act governs the arbitration agreement below.
- United Kingdom. These terms are governed by the law of the part of the UK where you live (England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland), and you may bring claims in its courts. You keep your statutory rights, including that digital content be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
- European Union, the EEA and Switzerland. These terms are governed by the law of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in its courts. We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under product liability law. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential obligations (those that make the app possible at all and on which you may rely), and then only for the damage that is typical and foreseeable for an app of this kind.
- Elsewhere. These terms are governed by the law of the place where you live, as far as that law requires; for example, the guarantees of the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded.
Arbitration (United States)
This part applies only if you live in the United States. Please read it: it affects how disputes are resolved.
Talk to us first. Before starting an arbitration or a claim, write to support@crowmade.app with your name, how to reach you, what the dispute is about and what you are asking for. We will try in good faith to resolve it with you within 60 days.
Binding individual arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and Crowmade agree that any dispute or claim arising from or related to the app or these terms (including whether this agreement applies to it) will be resolved by binding arbitration before a single arbitrator, administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (www.adr.org), and not in court. The arbitration takes place by video, telephone or written submissions, or in person in the county where you live. The arbitrator's fees and the administration fees are paid as the AAA's Consumer Arbitration Rules provide. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could, and only for you. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies there, and either of us may ask a court to stop the infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
No class actions, no jury. You and Crowmade may bring claims against each other only individually, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding, and an arbitrator may not combine the claims of more than one person. You and Crowmade each give up the right to a trial by jury. If this paragraph is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim, and only that claim, goes to court instead of arbitration.
Opting out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by writing to support@crowmade.app within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms, with your name and the words "I opt out of arbitration". Opting out does not change the rest of these terms.
Time to bring a claim. Where the law allows, a claim must be brought within one year after it arose.
If you got the app from Apple's App Store
These terms are between you and Crowmade, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app; to the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Apple is not responsible for any claims by you or anyone else relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, nor for investigating, defending or settling a claim that the app infringes someone's intellectual property. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, where it does not conflict with these terms.
Google is not a party to these terms either, and is not responsible for the app.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the app changes or the law requires it. The version and date at the top say which terms you are reading. When a change matters to what you agree to, the app shows you the new terms and asks you to agree before you go on; if you don't agree, please stop using the app. A change does not apply to a dispute that arose before it.
General
These terms, with the privacy policy and the terms of the store you got the app from, are the whole agreement between you and us about the app. If a part of them cannot be enforced, it applies as far as the law allows and the rest stays in force. If we don't enforce a part of them at once, we may still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours to someone who takes over the app, as long as your rights are not reduced. These terms are written in English; the summary of their key points shown in the app in other languages is there to help, and if it differs, the English terms apply as far as the law allows.
